Pro Makeup Artist Discounts

Building your professional makeup kit can be extremely expensive and the cost of products increase year after year. Applying for pro discounts keeps costs down and allows you to buy in bulk and save. I always get asked questions by other working makeup artists and people who are starting out about how to apply and what you need - so I have listed below some of my most used pro discounts each with a quick description of the requirements to apply.

Some brands offer tiered discount depending on what industry you work in, and also offer student discounts for people who are studying makeup. I fall under the category of a Bridal/Beauty Makeup Artist, so most of the discounts I receive are in the middle tier. If you work in TV or film, you will most likely get the full amount but the application process requires documents such as call sheets and company letterheads. Remember that some discounts can only be used online, and any discounts that are able to be used 'in-store' mean they can only be used in a freestanding location. You cannot use them on concessions, which are counters within other stores (eg. a Charlotte Tilbury counter inside of a John Lewis department store).

I am Level 3 Certified and almost all of the discounts I applied for required my certificate to be accepted, I do not know if you can apply for these if you are not a qualified and insured makeup artist. All of the brands I applied to require a link to your own professional working website, and do not accept social media accounts as proof of profession.
